John studied at the Milgard School of Business at University of Washington.  He majored in accounting and minored in applied computing.  He volunteered as a cadet with the Pierce County Sheriffs Department Cadet Program.  During his time with the Cadet Program he assisted police officers and corrections in doing mock scenes, coordinating safety fairs at elementary schools with McGruff the Crime Dog, and committed many hours of community service to the Department.

John is currently working in property management in the emphasis of commercial real estate.  In his free time he enjoys running in the outdoors, hiking, camping, reading history, and going to live concerts.
